Summer is coming in to a close and Fall is right around the corner. We recommend to keep flea and tick prevention on even through Fall and Winter months. Adult fleas will only die off if we have temperatures below freezing for several consecutive days. Even then, the eggs can survive the cold and with the next warm day they will begin to hatch. Once a flea is present, it takes three consecutive months of treatment in order to break the life cycle of a flea. Treatment of a flea infestation can be more costly and time consuming than just keeping prevention on your companion all year around.
